The Pirates hosted their annual "Play 4Kay" game against Marshall last week and the results were phenomenal. Not only did a crowd of 3,258 witness the contest, the fifth-largest in program history, but ECU walked away with a 61-57 victory over a very good Herd squad.
Play 4Kay, formerly known as the WBCA Pink Zone®, is an initiative for a nation of coaches to raise breast cancer awareness and funds for research on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond. The official charity is the Kay Yow Cancer Fund®, in partnership with the WBCA and The V Foundation.
Coach Yow is an East Carolina alumna, so it was an awesome way to honor a woman who made such an impact not only in Greenville, but in nearby Raleigh and across the women's basketball world.
